Hi Diane.. as an animal trainer we would use a dollop of tuna (packed in spring water, not oil) placed on the tip of the bottles to encourage licking. You would need repeat this technique quite a few times and eventually your cat should learn that this is another source of getting water. While they are learning, however make sure they do have still have access to water until you are certain they know how to drink from the bottles.

Goat milk also works very well for training them to a bottle. There is a company called bottle babies (www.bottlebabies.com) that sells stands for the water bottles. It takes a bit longer to train an adult but they still usually pick it up within a week or so.
